Catholic Christianity

by Peter Kreeft

Peter Kreeft, a professor and author, wrote this book as a complete summary of Catholic belief based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Ignatius Press published it in 2001, and the paperback runs 425 pages.

The book covers Catholic doctrine, morality and worship. It presents the Church's essential teachings as one connected whole, in the light of the Second Vatican Council and the whole of the Church's Tradition. Kreeft writes in a popular style, with less technical language than the Catechism itself.

It is a good companion for OCIA participants who want a fuller explanation than a short introduction gives, and for anyone with many questions about why Catholics believe what they do. Read it a chapter at a time alongside your parish sessions.
